In preparation for the upcoming Ram temple consecration ceremony, the Yogi Adityanath government has strengthened security measures in Ayodhya.
According to Inspector General (Ayodhya range) Praveen Kumar, Ayodhya has been a sensitive area and the security plan includes the presence of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), UP Special Security Force (UPSSF), Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) and the civil police, incorporating new technologies.
“A new security plan for the Ram temple will soon be implemented to prevent unauthorised access around the temple without scrutiny,” he said.
Kumar said checking points and CCTV cameras would be established throughout the area.
“Drones will be restricted from flying without permission in the designated zones. River security will also be enhanced, ensuring better protection along the riverbanks. During the inauguration, security arrangements for parking on 37 government and non-government lands in the district are being implemented, with surveillance cameras installed,” he said.
He said arrangements for those invited to the event would be streamlined and special provisions for smaller vehicles would facilitate easy access to their destinations. Information about diversions will be communicated through various mediums, he added.
“For security reasons, on January 22 and 23, heavy vehicles will be diverted away from the city centre,” he said.
The intelligence department would remain active during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, with a focus on both human resources and artificial intelligence, the IG said.
“Vigilance against potential disruptions will be maintained and individuals with suspicious activities will be closely monitored. The integration of artificial intelligence aims to enhance overall security measures during the event,” he said.
