Super speciality courses have started in Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC). Three students have joined DM course in the Department of Cardiology; with their joining patients will get cardiology consultation daily. Two students have joined MCh in the Department of Neuro Surgery.
Dr Manisha Shrivastava, Director-in-charge of BMHRC, said that it is a matter of great pleasure and pride for us to start the super speciality courses in BMHRC. This is a big achievement for the institute.
With the introduction of super speciality courses, the quality of treatment will improve. Also, research related activities will get a boost. At present the OPD of the cardiology department used to operate four days a week.
Now it will operate from Monday to Saturday. Dr Shrivastava said that PG courses have already going on in the Departments of Anaesthesiology, Microbiology, Psychiatry and Ophthalmology. Consent of affiliation has been received from Madhya Pradesh Medical Research Council (MPMSU) to start MBBS course and PG courses in the departments of Radiology, Transfusion Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Urology. After receiving the letter of permission from the National Medical Council (NMC), MBBS courses and PG courses will start in these departments from next year.
Apart from this, from next year M.Phil. (Clinical Psychology) and BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) courses are also expected to be started.
