Three Maoists were killed on Sunday in a gun battle with security personnel in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.
The fighting occurred between the forested hills of Dabbakunna and Tumakpal villages in the Katekalyan area at around 5.30 pm, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said.
The District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bastar Fighters had launched an operation along the Dantewada-Sukma inter-district border.
After the skirmish ended, the bodies of three male Naxalites, clad in ‘uniform’, were recovered from the spot.
A cache of explosives and weapons were seized from the site.
