Bhopal police have arrested an accused from Bhind who posed himself as Bhopal Police Commissioner to a Deputy Superintendent of of Police (DSP) of Bhopal district.
First, introducing himself as a sub inspector (SI) posted at Bhopal Police Commissioner’s office, he contacted the police control room and got the mobile number of the DSP. After police information, family members of accused kept distance.
On Sunday afternoon in Bhind, a youth was caught by the Bhopal police when he called the control room by posing as a sub-inspector. After this the accused asked for the number of Umri police station and headquarter DSP. When the police became suspicious of the accused's actions, he was arrested.
Police said, Ankit Parihar, son of Rakesh Singh Parihar, resident of Piprauli village under Sahson police station of Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, called constable Arun Dixit posted in the control room on Sunday morning and named himself sub-inspector Virendra Singh in the office of Bhopal Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra.
The accused asked for the mobile number of Umri police station in-charge Ravindra Sharma and DSP Headquarters Sanjay Kocha over the phone. This was given from the control room. After this, while talking to the DSP Headquarters, the accused changed his voice and started talking on the mobile as Bhopal Commissioner himself. Headquarters DSP Kocha became suspicious on this due to the tone of conversation.
When the mobile location was checked, it was found to be of Raun police station area. After this doubt turned into belief. The police caught the accused along with the vehicle. The accused was roaming around with a rented four-wheeler car. Information about the accused was given by Bhind police at the police headquarters.
A case of forgery is registered against the accused in Bhopal. Bhopal Crime Branch police reached Bhind on Monday evening to pick up the accused and returned on Tuesday morning.
