Foggy conditions will continue to prevail in the plains of the State. The State meteorological centre has issued an orange warning (alert) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur at a few places in Udham Singh Nagar district during late night and morning hours on Saturday. The meteorological centre has also issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur at a few places in Haridwar district during late night and morning hours. Apart from this dry weather is likely to prevail in the State today with shallow to moderate fog likely to occur in some parts of the plain areas during late night and morning hours.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness shallow fog/mist during the late night and morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in Dehradun dropped by a degree from normal on Friday. However, the maximum temperature was three degrees above normal, which provided some relief from the cold during the daytime. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 22.3 degrees Celsius and 5.9 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 18.6 degrees Celsius and 7.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 14.2 degrees Celsius and 4.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 15.9 degrees Celsius and three degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
