Police seek remand for shooter to uncover links with notorious don Akhilesh Singh

In a strategic move, the law enforcement authorities are looking forward to obtaining a remand for Harish Singh, a known shooter, to delve into his connections with the notorious don, Akhilesh Kumar. The decision to grill Harish Singh on his involvement and association with the criminal mastermind was made apparent during a press briefing by the senior police officials.

Harish Singh, who was apprehended under dramatic circumstances from a hotel in Rajgir, Bihar, is believed to have crucial information regarding the activities and network of Akhilesh Singh. The police, under the leadership of City SP Mukesh Lunayat, orchestrated a meticulous operation that led to Harish Singh's arrest on January 3.

During the press conference, Senior SP Kishore Kaushal shed light on the impending interrogation of Harish Singh, stating, "The decision to take Harish Singh on remand is a crucial step in our ongoing efforts to dismantle the criminal infrastructure associated with Akhilesh Singh. Harish is believed to be a key player in Akhilesh's operations, and his insights can prove instrumental in uncovering hidden facets of organized crime in the region."

Harish Singh, who had been operating under a fake identity, attempted to evade arrest by presenting a forged Aadhaar card. However, the police, employing mobile surveillance and their investigative acumen, tracked him down, leading to his capture.

A resident of East Plant Bustee in Burmamines, Harish Singh is implicated in 30 criminal cases registered in and around Jamshedpur. His activities include extortion, armed attacks, making threatening calls, and involvement in multiple murders. Harish Singh's association with Akhilesh Kumar, who is currently serving time in Dumka central jail, adds an additional layer of complexity to the ongoing investigations.

As Harish Singh is taken into police custody for remand, the authorities aim to extract vital information that could aid in understanding the criminal dynamics orchestrated by Akhilesh Kumar. The move underscores the commitment of the police force to unraveling criminal networks and ensuring the swift and effective administration of justice in the region. The interrogation is expected to provide crucial insights into the notorious activities orchestrated by Akhilesh Kumar and his network.

Jamshedpur police had apprehended Harish Singh, a close associate and shooter for the notorious gangster Akhilesh Singh. Harish Singh, who had been using a fake identity, was arrested from a hotel in Rajgir, Bihar, on January 3, by a dedicated police team led by City SP Mukesh Lunayat. The criminal was brought back to Jamshedpur on a transit remand from Bihar.

Senior SP Kishore Kaushal disclosed these details during a press conference, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding Harish Singh's arrest. According to Kaushal, the police discovered Harish Singh's whereabouts through mobile surveillance, leading to the successful operation in Rajgir.

Harish Singh had been staying at the hotel using the fake identity of "Ajay Kumar" and attempted to mislead the police by presenting a forged Aadhaar card with the same name. However, the diligent police team, under City SP Mukesh Lunayat's leadership, managed to track him down and apprehend him. Subsequent interrogation confirmed Harish Singh's true identity.

Due to Harish Singh's persistent criminal activities, including his notorious role in extorting money from businessmen, the Director-General of Police (DGP), Jharkhand, had declared a bounty of Rs 40,000 on his head in the year 2020.
